In a major cessation of hostilities in West-Asia, both US and Iran have agreed to halt attacks and hold talks in Qatar on June 30, according to a report in Axios.
The meeting aims to work out conflicts over the Strait of Hormuz, a key corridor through which one-fifth of the global oil trade transited during pre-war times.
The agreement comes against the backdrop of renewed tensions in the region even after both the nations signed an interim Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17.
However, tenisons escalated again after Iran attacked a cargo ship trying to navigate out of the Strait of Hormuz. US retaliated and Iran, in response, struck US bases in Bahrain.
The string of attacks have shaken the uneasy ceasefire signed by the two nations.
